Physically, the two main boards feature identical circuit layout, connectors and wiring ports. They can be plugged into either machine mechanically. However, they cannot work perfectly out‑of‑the‑box without modification.
Each board is locked with factory original firmware:
- MP C6503 main board: factory‑limited printing speed at 65 pages per minute
- MP C8003 main board: factory‑limited printing speed at 80 pages per minute
If you install a C6503 board into an MP C8003 machine, the whole device will be restricted to run at 65 ppm only.
